With its ability to learn, solve problems and recognize patterns at a velocity and scale no human will ever match, artificial intelligence is poised to reshape how buildings are designed, built, and operated —and 2023 will be the year it takes hold! “Artificial intelligence will transform our industry in the next 10 years more than any other technology in the past 100 years,” said James Barrett, chief innovation officer for Turner Construction, the nation’s largest contractor. “It’s going to be huge because it has such broad application in so many cases. It’s not a question of if. It’s a question of when.”
AI and machine learning, a subset of AI that uses algorithms to learn from data without human programming, have been bubbling under the surface of construction operations for a few years now. But this year, Barrett predicted, “the growth curve is going to turn up really fast.” Read the full article HERE. A sincere and heartfelt Thank You for your partnership with Allied in 2022. As part of a $60 million renovation of The Virginian in Fairfax, Va., owner Focus Healthcare Partners wanted to redesign the community’s former Shenandoah memory care neighborhood.
The goal in developing the new Shenandoah Memory Care at The Virginian was to elevate memory care design through evidence-based practices and new technologies to create a next generation, “high-touch/high-tech” model. The project team includes: Moseley Architects (architect; Richmond, Va.), Meyer Design (interior designer; Ardmore, Pa.), Allied Partners (construction manager; Bend, Ore.), Carle Consulting (memory care designer; Oak Hill, Va.), and Life Care Services (management company/operator; Des Moines, Iowa). It increased occupancy to 36 units and expanded from one to two conjoining wings, totaling 20,000 square feet. In addition, the program is among the first memory care environments in the nation to utilize both circadian rhythm lighting throughout as well as a hand-motion gaming system, advancing applications of technology for residents with Alzheimer’s and related dementia. Check out the full article and photo tour from Environments for Aging HERE. Allied Partners and SunWest Builders are proud to be wrapping the final touches at The Tower Theatre. The historic theatre is finishing up some backstage renovations so artists and performing groups will be extra comfortable in Bend’s living room. The nonprofit Tower Theatre Foundation believes the performing arts strengthen our community and improve our lifestyle.
Vacationing families so often find themselves forced into a compromise: kids’ picky young palates cancel out those gourmet meals parents are craving; mom’s longed-for spa day cuts into the water sports the kids were promised; evening plans become a negotiation between bedtime, babysitters, or subpar on-site entertainment.
That’s why the best family-friendly resorts, the ones that parents return to again and again, never force you to take sides between grown-up activities and scheduling for the younger set. Instead, they make it easy to spend time together as a group, while also having plenty of alone time as needed. We’ve rounded up our favorite family vacation spots, all of which offer all-inclusive options for effortless planning. Go ahead and plan that trip: From sunrise guided meditation to street parties with the entire gang from Sesame Street, it’s time to make some memories. Allied Partners is proud to be working on a campus wide renovation with Belmontez Construction, PFB Architects, Spectrum Engineers, and many others.
With upgrades planned throughout the property focusing on the main lobby area, bistro, central atrium, pub, movie theatre, salon, and AL and IL dining rooms. Further, all corridors will be seeing updated finishes throughout all buildings. Elsewhere in the facility we are planning for a general landscape refresh and FF&E upgrades throughout. We can't wait to see the finished project! |
